Diamond Carat
The term "Carat" refers to a measurement of weight and
is determined through weighing diamonds on a precision scale. Modern
carat scales return a value which is accurate to the third decimal
position.
One carat = 0.02g / One gram = 5.000ct.
Before the carat measurements standardization, a carat referred
to the weight of
one seed from the fruit of the carob tree - hence the name
"Carat".
