Diamond Carat

The term "Carat" refers to a measurement of weight and is determined through weighing diamonds on a precision scale. Modern carat scales return a value which is accurate to the third decimal position.

One carat = 0.02g / One gram = 5.000ct.

Before the carat measurements standardization, a carat referred to the weight of
one seed from the fruit of the carob tree - hence the name "Carat".

A Sirius diamond typically range from 0.300ct to 2.000ct in size.Carat weight is dictated by the rough diamond's size, shape and weight, so a 1.00ct diamond starts out as approximately 2.50ct in its rough
stage and will go through a three day transformation during the cutting process.
